I would recommend these frames as a low cost alternative.
We have been using these frames for a few years now and they are a great option for our customers when doing our custom build classes. Our main complaint is mostly the laser burnt serial numbers on the older frames. They were very shallow. Some of the early frames after coating the frames the serial numbers were barely readable.
We noticed on a few of the early frames the front straps were out of true. The two angles opposing the radius of the front strap were cut at different angles and lengths. Make sure to check these dimensions on the front strap before checkering and you should be fine. Nothing a file and stone cant fix. All in All very happy with the quality.

Excellent for a first build, especially for people with limited tools.
I used this for a GI build using a surplus Ithaca slide and USGI parts. I am a machinist (not a gunsmith) and very particular on quality. I found all pin holes perfectly sized and for my build everything was drop in assembly. The only minor criticism was a bit of chatter marks on the hole chamfers. Also there was some inconsistency in the thickness of the casting leading to some wavy cosmetic lines along the front and backstraps also under the barrel. This was easily fixed by hand working with an india stone. I'm just waiting to send it out for parkerizing before I can hit the range.

Great Value For The Money
Very pleased with this frame. Very little effort needed to fit to new Fusion slide. Frame came with no tool marks or burrs. Front strap was found to be cut true when I did my checkering. Tang needed very little sanding to blend with grip safety. The frame evidently was machined to very close tolerances.
I got this frame when it was on sale, and now wish I would have gotten an additional one.
