Bob’s 1911 Bench, TECH-DAY….. Topic: Sight pushers

At Fusion Firearms Gunsmithing Shop, we install literally 1000’s of sights every years, front sights, rear sights, Fusion sights, LPA sights, Trijicon sights and many, many more. Many Folks ask me what I think on Sight pushers. Well, I am not a big fan of them. I have seen way too many sights that are not fit properly and lead to more issues for the end user. What do I mean, Well look at the below picture of the bashed in sight, this sight took way too much force to move, it also would pretty much not move in a clamped vice. So, if it took this much force to move with a punch, hammer and vise, HOW is a person going to adjust their sights on the range…….You that has said, “Virtually impossible”, Yes you are correct. For Proper fitting of most common sights I like to file fit or mill fit. Then pin or Loctite the front sight for an extra rugged set-up. If you have questions on sights or anything else 1911 feel free to contact the TECH Folks at Fusion Firearms for help. A full line-up of services are available on the Services section on our website…..……. Have a Great day and “Build-On”… Keeping the Tradition of Craftsmanship Alive!!!...
