Web Announcement Hi Folks, I get asked all the time about changing the caliber/cartridge in the 1911. So we have worked up a short Youtube clip to explain the parameters of doing this. Many folks think there is some magical barrel that will shoot all caliber, sorry, but this is not how it works. I have a list below of the basic components needed to change your pistol caliber and what caliber groups go together with the use of the same slide breech face. If you have more questions send Bob and email for tech help. As for Caliber changes: For 45 acp slide breech face: If you pistol is a 45 acp: Basic caliber choices are 400 Corbon, 45 super and 460 rowland For 40 Cal slide breech face: If you pistol is a 40 Cal: Basic caliber choices are 40 S&W, 10mm, & .357 SIG For 9mm slide breech face: If you pistol is a 9mm Cal: Basic caliber choices are 9x19, 9x21, 9x23, & 38 super. These are the basic common cartridge changes, there are many other wildcat cartridges also available but ammo is generally not common for them. questions. Thanks again for joining in on our Build sessions. More to come and we hope you enjoy it. Keeping the tradition of craftsmanship alive…. Fusionfirearms.com
