This is an Extra Fine Barrel hone. These are polymer woven bristles with polishing compound laced within the fibers. They are used for polishing firearm barrel chambers in 45 ACP. These are used spinning in a drill press or hand drill at about 400 to 600 rpm. Spray alittle light oil in the chamber and run the hone in and out to smooth chamber walls. These work very good. 2 things to watch for, 1- go in 5 to 8 strokes per sessions, then pull out clean barrel and see how the process is coming along. Don’t over polish and make sure you move the barrel or the hone in and out as it spins. This will insure that you don’t bell the chamber. It takes quite a bit to bell a chamber, but if you don’t pay attention you can do it. 2- Don’t run the hone into the rifling… You can feel the hone getting tight as you move it into the barrel chamber. Just go in until you feel it tighten and this is generally the throat are. Don’t go past this. I know this sound complicated, but it is not. Anyone with alittle mechanical ability can do it.
